Poems

Expectancy

From the September 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Millennia or the mailman—
the promised or the anticipated...
WHEN
hangs in the background of thought,
an elastic thread in the weavings of daily activity.

Human planning, flexibility, spontaneity,
can stretch it tight in goal reaching, while
the thread hangs limp in discouragement...

Have I done enough,
been good enough,
prayed enough,
learned enough,
to receive the reward of vision and blessing?

Enough!

God is enough.

His beloved reflection does not lack
goodness
activity
understanding
progress.
There is never too much or too little.

Pray without ceasing,1 Thess.5:17.listen expectantly.

He guides each step;
He gives you all.
