Welcome home

From the September 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

So often, when we're far from home, feeling disconnected or troubled, we yearn to find our way back.

This home is the place where security and affection and trust are found; where our relations with others are as close as ever; where we are each a loved one and so is everyone around us; where there is support for our advancement, recognition of our abilities, and an abiding respect for who we are as individuals. This is the kind of home we want to find not only where we live but where we work, and in our churches, in our communities, in every community. This is the home we have in God.

It's understandable why we long for such a dwelling place when life isn't going well. It offers a strong and reliable center for affection and trust and love. Not only do we long to be in such a place; we deserve to be there. The good news is, we already have this home with us wherever we are. It's a state of consciousness that comes from God, divine Mind. The Bible tells us "... we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."
11 Cor. 5:1
