My life has been wonderfully blessed by the study of Christian Science. Healings experienced include those of physical problems, employment and supply challenges, human relationship difficulties, and protection from accidents.
Two examples of our Father-Mother God's protecting, healing power particularly stand out. My hobby for many years was distance running. One January morning, I slipped on a patch of ice and fell hard on my head and back. I felt overpowered by pain and dizziness, and my first impulse was to crawl back into the house and into bed. But then I recalled the account of Mary Baker Eddy's healing of a near fatal fall on the ice. I knew that I, too, could be healed. These lines from Mrs. Eddy's book Science and Health came to me as the ideas I needed for healing: 'Accidents are unknown to God . . ." and, in the next paragraph, "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (p. 424). I rose to my feet and walked about a mile, pondering these statements. When the pain and dizziness subsided, I ran my usual workout. Upon reaching home to dress for the day, I realized that I was free from pain, completely healed.
After praying about twenty
minutes, I rose up off that cot
and walked out of the room.
