Divine restoration

From the December 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"I will restore to you
             the years that the locust
                         hath eaten."
Joel 2:25.

Devouring locusts.
            Oh, the emptiness.
                        Nothing left but the husks.

And yet this promise:
            I will restore . . .
Quickens me.
           Could it be true?
I wonder, waiting.
           Then

I hear a voice
           Softly at first, saying
Let My love fill your emptiness.
Let My strength mend your broken heart.
Let My hand guide you.
Let My joy wipe away your fears.

I will restore . . .
I do restore, for
I am All-in-all, and
I am with you
Now and always.
