God's law— supplying every need

From the December 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Humanity's progress has been considerably advanced by just, equitable laws. But a law of greater import—supreme, divine law —truly imparts and sustains harmony and order.

Christ Jesus declared in the Lord's Prayer: "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Matt. 6:10. Because God is infinite, His kingdom is everywhere, established and governed by His law, which continuously operates to supply man's needs.

The Psalmist prayed, "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law." Ps. 119:18. Wonderful things certainly had already been revealed to the Israelites through God's government and guidance: deliverance from the oppressive Egyptians, food and water in the wilderness, safety and shelter from enemies.
