Spirituality in action connects us with humanity

From the March 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Sharing Christian Science is essential if we're striving to love humanity as Christ Jesus did. Acquainting others with the truth of being is spirituality in action. It shows that we love Truth so much that we are eager to help others know about it. This act of giving is divinely empowered by God's Christ—the same Christ that enabled Jesus to do all that he did. It's vital that Christian Scientists, and all Christians, not only accept Jesus' selfless example but willingly assume their role as his followers.

As we stay free of skepticism and
human will, God controls thought
and action.

To share our understanding of Truth is natural because we exist as the very expression of Truth. Jesus' instruction is unmistakable. He once told a man, "Follow me." When the man replied "Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father," the Master answered, "Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God." Luke 9:59, 60. And in Hebrews we read, "To do good and to communicate forget not." Or, as The New English Bible has it, ". . . never forget to show kindness and to share what you have with others." Heb. 13:16. What a spiritual command that we go forth in love to share what we know of Truth!
