WELCOME

From the December 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

CHRISTMASTIME OFTEN BRINGS out the best in people—a joy in caring for others, a readiness to forgive. Yet some may feel an absence of love or joy more acutely during the holiday season. Counteracting the currents of thought that would have us struggling during Christmas, or at any time, is the influence of Christ, of God's healing, regenerating power, which Jesus embodied. Christ is always here, enabling us to both feel and express the tangible, liberating presence of God's love.

In this month's Journal, an article on forgiveness shows how to feel pure, God-inspired love toward others. And the article "Christmas: a revelation of divine Love" discusses the meaning of God's tender love for us. In fact, if there's a message that resounds throughout the issue it's that Christ is with us today, able to dissolve whatever would obstruct our view of divine Love and the firsthand witnessing of its healing power.

May each of you feel the tender, timeless touch of the Christ at this season and always.
