I WAS A MOTHER with three children when I really started to study Christian Science. It had seemed to me that the Bible was fiction, but through reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I began to understand and love the Bible. Little by little, my thought began to open to the wonderful promises God has made to His children. I was experiencing greater peace, joy, and happiness.
But around this time, my husband had several heart attacks. I stayed by his side and tried to keep my thought from being drowned in a sea of fear, but it was difficult. His doctors decided that the only way that my husband would live was to have several heart bypasses performed. I called a Christian Science practitioner to help me in dealing with extreme fear. The prayer helped me give needed support to my children and husband. After the surgery, the physician told me that my husband still had serious problems and that I should be prepared for the worst. This was just the beginning of a series of events that forced me to trust God, divine Love, with my life, as well as that of my family.
