My name is Kimberly Manning, and I was eight years old when this happened. When I was at my friend's house, we were playing a game in the spa where we swam to the bottom of the spa to try to make our voices sound different. I chose to lie on the bottom of the spa, where I got stuck on top of the drain. It was sucking water very hard and sucked me onto the drain. God's thoughts came to me to tell me what to do, and His love guided me to safety by having me push real hard on the sides of the spa. I felt like I had run out of air, but God told me to keep pushing. I finally got free and swam to the top of the spa.
There was a giant bruise on my back that looked like sunburn. When my friend touched the bruise, I started to scream. My friend's mom came running to see what was the matter. My friend's mom and I sat together and talked about God, and the fear went away. A day later we went swimming again, and I was not afraid of the spa (but I was careful about the drain). My mom also called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. Ten days later there was no trace of the bruise. I am so grateful to God for His love and care. I am glad I learn about God in the Christian Science Sunday School.
