From a founding member of the new Christian Science Society in St. Petersburg...

From the June 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When I was fifteen, I began learning English at a local club. A few years later, one of the teachers invited our group to watch a movie in English about Jesus Christ. It turns out she was a Russian Christian Scientist, though at the time I had no idea what that was. She later invited us to meet a Christian Scientist friend of hers to watch The Little Prince in English.

It was during this unusual party that she spoke to us about Christian Science, and all that it has meant to her family. I learned that they had something upon which they relied and which they used to overcome any possible challenges. When it came time to leave, we were given copies of the Christian Science Sentinel and The Christian Science Monitor.

This contact being established, another friend and I were frequently invited to her place. She showed us how to study the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, noting each new idea in the margins.
