On a recent visit to Malta, we went to the caves and catacombs where Paul had been. I was stirred to look again at the Biblical accounts of his healing work, his demonstrations of God's law.
Paul had been brought up under the ceremonial religious law of the Pharisees. It is said that he was educated "at the feet of Gamaliel," a Pharisee and eminent teacher. See Acts 22:3.
On the road to Damascus, a city where Paul intended to seek out Christians, whom he saw as rebels against God's law, the light of Christ dawned on him. He began a journey toward a more spiritual understanding of the law of God. See Acts 9:1-22.
