The natural law of good

"Being good" doesn't have to be so hard!

From the March 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Does It Sometimes Feel like a battle to be good, to see good, to feel good? Sometimes it has to me. But I'm most successful when I realize that goodness is actually a result of law and that it is our nature to surrender to this law.

In fact, good is inherent in each of us. It is how God created us to be—like Himself. Our real identity is spiritual and is governed by God, who is pure Love. We reflect God's infinite goodness, and our Father-Mother lovingly maintains our perfection. A parent who loves Her children would naturally keep them happy, satisfied, safe.

God uphold our inherent goodness by His law. The law of Love is never labored. When we're confronted with an illness, with problems in our career or finances, with depression, discouragement, or fear, we can trust the unlabored power of God's law to restore peace and order.
