Mary Baker Eddy's design for her Church includes a provision for practitioners and teachers of Christian Science, who are available to pray for people looking for spiritual healing. In this article, a Christian Science practitioner and teacher, shares some thoughts for both patients and practitioners about cases where healing may be delayed.
No matter who you are, if you are struggling with a long-term difficulty, whether it's financial, marital, mental, or physical, you want some kind of help, something you can depend on. And you deserve something to depend on, too. For me, Christian Science, which is rooted in Jesus' healing ministry, is a practical answer to every need.
True Science—the Science that comes from God—is a totally reliable law. It's more reliable than the law of gravity. And this Science can, and will, heal anyone. But sometimes it takes some work to achieve that healing. The advantage of sticking with Christian Science is that, besides the physical restoration, there is a spiritual renewal that can't really come about in any other way. In fact, this spiritual transformation is the most important thing that happens in a healing. Each healing makes the patient—and, in a way, even the practitioner/spiritual healer—a new person.
