Can you tell us a bit about your spiritual journey?
I had been studying a variety of spiritual texts, when a minister I met mentioned Christian Science. Throughout my life, I had always been interested in spirituality, and loved to read books on metaphysics. I immediately began to explore Christian Science—and got my first copy of Science and Health. I not only bought a copy for myself—but also one for a friend at work.
When I began to read the book, the answers that I gained from prayer and study were so powerful. The first time I opened the book I couldn't put it down. I went to get my car serviced and while I was waiting I sat there and just read—and read—and read! I felt like I was a starving person finding a feast. I just immersed myself in the reading. It felt like learning a new language and I wanted to practice as much as I could. I bought Mary Baker Eddy's other writings, and the Church Manual.
