Help and healing in Argentina

From the December 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As early as 1897, a copy of Mary Baker Eddy's book Science and Health was given to the English Literary Society in Buenos Aires. It was given to the Society by an American woman, Sara K. Webster. Mrs. Webster and other English-speaking families formed the nucleus of what would grow into the first Christian Science Society in Argentina, which was recognized in 1906. Today there are 13 churches and 3 societies in the city of Buenos Aires and in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Rio Negro, Santa Fe and Salta.

As the account below shows, even someone who is relatively new to the study of this Science can make a strong contribution to healing. Originally published in the Spanish/Portuguese/Italian edition of The Herald of Christian Science, January 1953, pp. 33-34 .

Shortly after i began to study Christian Science, my mother suffered a stroke, with congestion of the lungs. The physician who examined her diagnosed the case as very serious. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me.
