The Staff of The Christian Science Journal welcomes you to this special focus issue. Our writers, editors, and artists have prepared it with love and gratitude in their hearts for Mary Baker Eddy—the woman who gave Christian Science to humanity and wrote Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. She also founded the Journal, and was its first editor and publisher.
The purpose of this issue is twofold. First, to give you an advance look at The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity, which open its doors to the public in September (members' preview in June). In these pages, you'll visit with some of the Library trustess and staff, and take "A walk through the Library."
A second purpose of this issue is to invite each of you to the Annual Meeting of the Mother Church, which will be held in Boston the week of June 3. Central to this year's meeting will be the words from one of Mary Baker Eddy's letters: "For the world to understand me in my true light, and life would do more for our Cause than aught else could." *
