ARTIFACT DONATIONS

Do you have hidden treasure?

From the March 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

By providing context, sequence, and order to the vast collection of Mrs. Eddy's previously unpublished writings, The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity will help ensure that her history will be "correctly narrated and understood" so that all mankind can have a better understanding of Mrs. Eddy's ideas, lifework, and contribution to humanity.

At the 1997 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, The Christian Science Board of Directors announced plans to publish Mary Baker Eddy's previously unpublished writings. In the July 1999 issue of the Christian Science Journal, the Directors asked for the "opportunity to identify and examine" original materials held by individuals and institutions that document the life and works of the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

We explained that as copyright holder, the Board has the sole right to extend the copyright on Mrs. Eddy's unpublished writings by making copies of them available to the public before the end of this calendar year through publication in print or by placing them in a library open to the public.
