LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD AT THE CHURCH MARY BAKER EDDY DESIGNED

UK story

From the November 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When it comes to a public lecture, nothing brings people together like a story. Stories are a universal way to respond directly to an individual and a community. It was true in Jesus' day. And it's true today.

Christian Science lecturer Marta Greenwood knows the power of stories—true stories of healing. Says Ms. Greenwood, "My life was one disaster after another from my childhood to my adulthood. When I was given a copy of Science and Health, everything changed."

The flier for Greenwood's workshop-lecture, "Exploring Spiritual Healing," in Canterbury, Kent, England, last April, put her story front and center: "Former medical nurse and midwife, Marta Greenwood, will conduct a workshop in Canterbury to explore the role of spirituality on healing. The workshop includes practical steps anyone can use.
