Testimonies of Healing

Never allergic to love

From the April 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For many months I had a recurring condition in which I sneezed often, my eyes watered, and people at my workplace would remark, "She has another cold." The thought that this might be an allergy occurred to me, and I continued to pray about the condition.

People where I worked knew that I was a Christian Scientist, and one day as I was leaving, a friend said, "You have got to do something about that." After hearing that remark, I dreaded the thought of going to work the next morning. But I turned to God and asked Him what I needed to know in order to be healed. At once these words from Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy came to me: "The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through flood-tides of Love" (p. 201). Mortal mind is a term used to describe thinking that is negative or sickly in its nature, and I knew for sure that I didn't want to let that govern my health. I wanted Love to be my guide!

She told me I had to do something about my condition.
