SQUARE ONE

From the January 2005 issue of The Christian Science Journal

YOU'VE PROBABLY NOTICED a few changes in your Journal this month. But as you continue to read, I hope you'll also see that the content you love hasn't really changed. So, now you might ask, why the new look?

Actually, there's more than one answer to that question. First of all, we're always mindful of the mandate from our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, to keep this magazine "abreast of the times." Manual of The Mother Church, p. 44. And, clearly, "expression, form, outline, and color" Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 247. are an integral part of the products on newsstands today. Secondly, we've been getting great feedback from you, our readers, about the increased attention we've paid to design over the past few months. So we're committed to representing, not just the logic of Principle and the insight of Mind, but also the joy of Spirit and the radiance of Soul, in both the writing and the art that fills our pages.

Our dedication to reader satisfaction isn't just limited to presentation, though. We're thrilled to report that we've begun to analyze the results of a recent survey of our readers, and we want you to know that we're listening to what you've told us. You love testimonies, articles about healing, the Bible Forum section, and pieces for kids and teens. We hope that the way we've reorganized the magazine makes finding those features each month a little easier.
