I had gone to an aerobics class, and apparently pulled a muscle in my chest. At the time, I didn't feel anything. But a couple of hours later, I began to experience some pain in my chest, and as the afternoon went on, things started to get worse. So I began to pray.
Prayer has always been a first port of call for me. I grew up turning to God for help, and I have had countless healings through prayer. So I knew I could trust it in this situation also.
Still, when I went to work the next day, my chest was extremely painful. And I had quite a bit of difficulty walking and breathing. But I kept praying. By lunch time, though, things had not improved and I felt it necessary to ring a Christian Science practitioner to help me pray. I was in tears when I talked to him. But he shared some powerful ideas, including this one from the Bible: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isa. 41:10).
