LETTERS

From the November 2005 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is rare that I read the Journal from front to back. It is usually from back to front, a common approach for many people reading magazines. However, on the day the September Journal arrived, with its theme of perfection featured in many of the articles, I was most grateful for Square One [p. 7]. As I was heavily immersed in preparations for a group of soon-to-arrive college students, the temptation to feel discouraged was tangible, because time was running out for me to polish many of the little details of the initial presentations I had been assembling throughout the summer.

Managing Editor Amy Baker's opening comments cleared the gloom, especially with the key idea of "discovering more about the one true source of perfection: God."

Although it was midnight, I enjoyed reading many of the articles relating to the featured theme—in sequential order—and was not at all surprised to feel a lifting of spirits as my preparations went forward in the next few days, and the final results felt upbeat instead of burdened.
