AS A TWO-TIME PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTEE IN THE 1980s, leader of the first US business delegation to China, and former Ambassador and Special Advisor to the Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, Gilbert A. Robinson has nearly seen and done it all in the world of government and diplomacy. But how he has found his way into this month's Bible Forum is another story. His more than 25 years of service on the Board of Trustees of the National Bible Association (representing Christian Science) attest to his lifetime love of the Bible and the importance it has played in his life.
In honor of National Bible Week, celebrated November 20 through 27 in the United States, Ambassador Robinson spoke recently with the Journal's Thomas de France about the National Bible Association, Christian Science, and how he has turned to the Bible for answers to the tough challenges that have come his way.
