A LISTENING EAR

From the August 2005 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I Had Been Toying with the idea on and off for a few months but hadn't made a definite decision. Immediately on waking one morning, though, I heard myself say out loud, "Connie, you are going to sell your house."

I must admit I was surprised, but I was ready to listen to what I knew was a divine directive. After all, God had never failed to take care of my most earnest needs. On many occasions when I'd listened to God in the past, I had left the entire plan to Him, and this had always kept me free from ruminating over pros and cons.

Through help of a friend, I selected a real estate agent. I put my name in for a two-bedroom apartment in a building that I had looked at for a friend a year earlier. I was accepted and placed fifteenth on their waiting list.
