ARTICLES IN THE POPULAR PRESS about healing through prayer or faith appear almost daily.
Though this magazine cannot yet be called part of the popular press, it correctly can be said to have specialized in articles on healing through prayer and to have been an authoritative voice on the subject since its founding by Mary Baker Eddy in April 1883.
For that reason, and because it is in the public interest that current thought on the subject of spiritual healing be addressed, a comment in a December 2004 article Kathryn Casey, " The Healing Power of Prayer ." in the Ladies' Home Journal may merit a word in this publication. The article quoted a Harvard University researcher, Dr. Anne McCaffery, as observing, "You can't prove God exists, so how can you prove that prayer works?"
