LETTERS

From the November 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I would like to express my deep gratitude for the infinite ways our Father-Mother God cares and provides for all His/Her children. I was blessed by the articles on the visit of the Christian Science Board of Directors to Cuba in the September 2008 Journal [pp. 52-59]. I found the articles very humbling and instructive of the infinite possibilities of God and the practicality of divine Principle, Love, Mind—such points as the Cuban government allowing Christian Science church and practive to continue and that the Christian Science public healing practice is sustainable even in a country where medical services are free.

I was led to consider the challenges in other countries. Mortal sense classifies countries into groups as "developing" and "developed." I realized that for a while now, I have unknowingly considered that spiritual understanding goes forward only with the economic development of place. Almost like saying that the practice of Christian Science is impossible outside of the developed countries in the world. Yet the blessings and growth experienced by the Christian Science practitioners and students in Cuba showed me this error in my thinking.

For this and all that I learn through the Christian Science periodicals and Bible Lessons, I express my deeply felt gratitude to all who work for The Mother Church, to Mary Baker Eddy, and to our Father-Mother God.
