CHURCH ALIVE

Ready for the Community

From the November 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Establishment. SECTION 1. Each church of the Christian Science denomination shall have a Reading Room, though two or more churches may unite in having Reading Rooms, provided these rooms are well located (Church Manual, p.63).

AND WELL LOCATED WE ARE! The jointly maintained Reading Room in Chicago is in the heart of the Loop business district, across the street from a post office with a plaza where farmers' markets, craft fairs, rallies, and other large public events take place. We're near banks, restaurants, and retail businesses that draw tremendous foot traffic, and we're only a few paces away from a bus stop that serves several routes.

We see the connection between our work behind the scenes and what comes into our experience.
