PRAYER FOR HAITI

From the May 2010 issue of The Christian Science Journal

During a Wednesday night testimony meeting in our church, my mother expressed gratitude for articles in the Christian Science periodicals about praying for Haiti, following the January 12 earthquake there. I wrote this poem while riding home in the car. I hope that all who read it find the same of peace and love I felt after putting my inspiration into words.

Should the rains fall,
And the waters enthrall,
Comfort be to all.
Even if earth shakes,
And the ground breaks,
Glory be to all.

Should Haiti's darkness fill
With accusations shrill,
Each is My likeness still,
In thought and declaration.

O, thirsting child
Drink from My cup
Of Truth and Love divine.
You are My expression,
Who knows no regression
Nor contamination,
For you are Mind's reflection.

Should false witnesses call
Angels can lift the pall,
And sing to all
Of Truth divine
Of likeness Mine—
The breaking of the dream.
