Are struggles to see God’s goodness expressed in human experience inevitable?

From the January 2015 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Q: Are struggles, and even failures, to see God’s goodness expressed in human experience inevitable?

A: When one surveys the world scene and views the many challenges facing mankind, this question is very understandable—and heartfelt. But even in the face of those challenges, the fact of God’s love, power, and presence has been proven over and over throughout history.

The most perfect record of the practicality of God’s care for us is found in the life, teaching, and works of Christ Jesus. Jesus had power to heal all manner of sickness, purify human character, and even raise the dead. We also know of his own resurrection from the dead, as well as his final ascension from the human scene.
