I wish to testify to a complete and very rapid healing of a facial tumor. When a growth appeared on my face last year and grew larger over a period of five months, it was a wake-up call to turn my thought to our real, spiritual source—divine Mind. Having been praying to better understand and practice Christian Science for many years, I felt God’s assurance that the problem would certainly be healed through prayer.
At first the tumor appeared alarming, but I quietly turned to the spiritual reality that man has perfect health as the reflection of God, good. There are no tumors or other imperfections in our divine source, so we must be 100 percent free of those ills, too.
I requested metaphysical treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. As the practitioner began praying, I felt lifted above all fears based on medical theories I’d heard of, related to being vulnerable to such conditions. I saw that these were false material laws, not the truth about God’s flawless spiritual creation.
Clearly understanding this truth is like turning on a bright light in a dark room. The light flooded my thought, sweeping away the illusive, shadowy fears. My body quickly began to normalize. The pain and swelling of the tumor retreated. When I washed my face the next day, the tumor simply fell off, leaving only a tiny pink spot, which completely healed in a couple of days with no scar.
This quick healing through mental surgery is proof positive of Mary Baker Eddy’s statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive” (p. 463).
I’m grateful to Mrs. Eddy for helping us understand that God is good, and good is omnipotent and omnipresent. Regardless of what the five personal senses say, spiritual sense reveals the truth—the health, holiness, and immortality of man.
