Healing of disease diagnosed as incurable

From the April 2016 issue of The Christian Science Journal

About six years ago, prior to finding Christian Science, I was at work and suddenly became extremely disoriented, to the point where I was unable to walk. Soon I started experiencing issues with my ears. I went to several medical doctors, who agreed on a diagnosis of a disease that is considered to be incurable, and they expected the symptoms to get considerably worse.

Although I had never studied Christian Science, I always had an intrinsic feeling that I should not have this disease. After years of suffering from very challenging symptoms, I went back to the first specialist I had seen, hoping there had been a recent medical breakthrough, but the doctor just looked at me solemnly and shook his head.

Driving home, I was in tears and came to the conclusion that my only option at that point was “euthanasia.” I lived on my own and had to work full-time, and life just seemed too much of a struggle.
