Last winter when we took our dog, Pepper, to get a vaccination required by law in our state, the vet told us she wanted to hospitalize him and take some tests. She thought he had a serious problem.
We were leaving that morning for a ski trip, so we decided that my husband would continue with our plans and head to the ski area with other family members while I stayed home, and I would join them a day or so later with Pepper.
After my husband left, I turned to Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I felt led to read the allegory on pages 430–442, which depicts the legal trial of a man who is sick as a result of breaking supposed health laws. I had always avoided reading this allegory because I didn’t understand it, but now I felt inspired to spend most of the day studying it.
