From the November 2023 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Moji George, “Welcome,” Journal, September 2023

Thank you for this opening to the September Journal. It was so great to see the phrase “catch the vision.” I love it because it is so full of promise and possibility. I believe it was a phrase sometimes used by early Christian Scientists sharing the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Allison W. Phinney mentions it in his article on the textbook’s impact on religion in the December 1975 issue of the Journal.

We can all catch the vision and share it! It’ll catch on.

Betty Jean O’Neal, “Angels awaken us to divine provision,” Journal, August 2023

How timely this article is. God’s angel messages do supply every need! My cellphone was missing, and I had searched everywhere I could think of. But the ideas in this article quieted my thoughts. Just now I was led directly to my phone. I am so grateful for the angel thoughts that led me first to Betty O’Neal’s article and then to my phone.

Deborah Huebsch, “Practicing Christian Science in a medicalized culture,” Journal, August 2023

This article helped me put down the suggestions that healing is contingent upon meeting some material goal or condition. Each of us is bombarded by medical ads and questions from others as to what we are “doing” to heal or care for ourselves. Thank you for showing that we are never separated from or outside our source, God, for a minute! I experienced healing of a condition referred to as hereditary from reading this article. Thank you.

This article touched on all the key points as to what impedes a quick healing, especially the human tendency to focus on the problem.

Andrea McCormick, “Dispelling the myth of dualism,” Journal, July 2023

The July Journal provided lots of food for thought, especially the article by Andrea McCormick. I’m sure I’ll refer to it often.

Thank you for this inspiring publication. My appreciation for all the hard work that goes into each issue.
