Since childhood, I had been very sick, and I was labeled as a weak child. With encouragement from my father, I completed engineering studies and got a job in a teachers’ training institute, where a colleague—like a God-sent messenger—introduced me to Christian Science.
That was the right time, as I needed to heal physical problems, relationship issues, and job stagnation. On my very first visit to a Christian Science church on Sunday, I was healed of intense pain. There was no looking back after that.
One sentence from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy especially touched me: “Reflecting God’s government, man is self-governed” (p. 125). I tried to understand the meaning of the word reflection, and as I saw myself as God’s reflection, a sense of burden lifted. I had many healings with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was able to leave medicines for all time, I became a member of the Christian Science society I was attending, and I worked in many capacities there. Relationship issues were resolved, and I progressed in my job.
