Editor’s note: Annually, we introduce our readers to those who will be lecturing for the Christian Science Board of Lectureship during the coming lecture year which runs from July to June. We asked the co-managers of the lecturing activity, Heloísa Gelber Rivas and Chet Manchester, to give us a preview of the new lecture year.
Dear Fellow Members, This invitation to Annual Meeting 2015 is being sent to each one of you wrapped with so much love and expectancy of good! We are called of God to join in a special time of coming together and growing together, of continuing to build on the foundation of Christ-healing that is central to this Church. Each of you is essential— invaluable —to carrying forward this great Cause.
We’re happy to let you know that there has been an important addition to the editorial staff. As of March 30, Barbara Vining, CSB, has joined us as Associate Editor for The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science.
Dear cherished Members, With joyful anticipation we’re looking forward to being together at Annual Meeting on Monday, June 8, 2015. For Christian Scientists, Annual Meeting day has always been special, perhaps because it makes us more conscious of how all of us are working together in this unique Cause, and everyone is so greatly needed and valued.
Dear Fellow Members and Friends, We are very pleased to announce that effective January 6, 2015, Suzanne Riedel, CSB, of Denver, Colorado, will gather her love for Christ-healing, for this Church, and for humanity, and will pour it into her new role as Clerk of The Mother Church. The Christian Science Board of Directors elected Suzanne to the position of Clerk with the feeling that at present there is need for a full-time Clerk in addition to five full-time Directors and a full-time Treasurer.
Dear Friends, Each year about this time we look forward to being in touch with you as very dear friends and fellow members of The Mother Church. This year we’d like to use the occasion to think together about the fact that all of us are also fellow members of the Cause of Christian Science.
We invite the whole Christian Science Field to prayerfully support the formation and successful teaching of Normal class 2015. After Mary Baker Eddy’s God-inspired, Bible-based discovery of Christian Science, she saw the need to ensure its correct teaching.
Dear Members and Friends, Today the Christian Science Board of Directors voted to admit new members to our worldwide church family. As you may know, admission takes place at a regular business meeting of the Board that is required in the Church Manual.
Presumably , you are reading this issue of the Journal because you find its contents helpful—helpful in a deeply spiritual way. Hopefully you find that it lifts thought above the common outlook of materialism to the realities of God and His true, spiritual creation—a creation which we all are part of and which God has from eternity pronounced “very good” ( Genesis 1:31 ).
