Dear Members and Friends, It is a joy and a privilege for me to share news of today’s [November 3] admission of new members. Admission takes place at a regular business meeting of the Christian Science Board of Directors and is required in the Church Manual.
We invite the whole Christian Science Field to prayerfully support the formation and successful teaching of Normal Class 2018. You might remember that we issued a similar invitation to you in 2015.

Dear Church family, As Rich Evans, CSB, steps into his new role as a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors on May 1, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin E. Ness, CS, to succeed Rich as the Manager of the Committees on Publication.
Dear Fellow Members and Friends, With great gratitude for the continuity of good, the Christian Science Board of Directors extends heartfelt thanks to Lyle Young, CSB, who stepped off the Board at the end of April to return to his loved home base in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. On May 1, we welcomed Richard Evans, CSB, to serve on the Board.
A national benevolence fund for Christian Science nursing care is now available for individuals living in the United States. Those who need assistance paying for their Christian Science nursing care can apply to the National Fund for Christian Science Nursing (NFCSN) for a grant.
The Christian Science Board of Directors has elected Mark Sappenfield to serve as the next Editor of The Christian Science Monitor, succeeding Marshall Ingwerson, who announced his resignation in December. Mark, a twenty-year veteran with the Monitor, has held assignments in Boston, the San Francisco Bay Area, Washington, DC, and South Asia.
Dear Church family, It’s time to be thinking ahead to this year’s Annual Meeting, and we can’t help being inspired by the prospect. We have felt a strong spiritual impetus from each of the recent Annual Meetings.
Dear Friends, We want to let you know about an upcoming change at The Christian Science Monitor. Marshall Ingwerson has asked to step down as the Monitor ’s Editor in the next few months to take another important position.
