Calls for lectures Each spring, societies, churches, and university and college organizations are sent all the materials necessary to call upon a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship for a lecture. This includes scheduling information, instructions, and application forms.
The more they mean to you, the more often, probably! And perhaps you feel this way about The Mother Church, as well. Many members cherish its purpose and its activities so much that they aren't content to be in touch only once a year, at per capita tax time.
The chapter titled "Recapitulation" in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the Christian Science textbook by Mary Baker Eddy, is the basis for class instruction in Christian Science. A Christian Scientist who is considering Primary class instruction will want to review this chapter.
The Normal class of the Board of Education was held early in December. In compliance with the By-Law, Article XXX, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, this class convenes on the first Wednesday of December in each third year.
From time to time we will publish selected articles, editorials, or poems from past periodicals. We could not possibly reprint all the outstanding items from the past.
Topical articles—those dealing with national or world is sues—are always welcome, provided they stand squarely on a spiritual basis. These articles are of particular interest for the Sentinel.
Perhaps the most appealing aspect of Christian Science is that it can be demonstrated. And articles that include a specific description of how to put Science into practice help prepare the reader to try it for himself.
