The first Christian Science Reading Room was opened in Boston, Massachusetts, in October, 1888, at the recommendation of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Although this Reading Room differed from and was superseded by the Christian Science Reading Room as it is today, the Christian Scientist may indeed cherish this instance of his Leader's vision of the power of Truth's communications, as represented by the Christian Science movement's authorized publications, to carry her teachings forward.
Are we conscious of the fact that the operation of Truth is instantaneous? Are we aware that Truth is the absence of all error? If so, then we realize that the instantaneity of Truth is the nowness of the availability of all good. Both Old and New Testaments of the Bible contain references to the immediate action of Truth.
In this modern age, we hear much of nuclear energy, jet-propelled planes, missiles, and the exploring of outer space, some aspects of which offer severe challenges. Scientific research along many lines has made great strides in all fields of material endeavor.
However hackneyed the thirteenth chapter of I Corinthians may have become to some readers through much use, nothing can dim the beauty and simplicity of its language or obscure the spiritual meaning which shines through the words. It remains one of the most wonderful statements and analyses of spiritual love ever written.

A Mighty stirring agitates the world today as men, sensing the possibility of betterment, strive for liberation. Instinctively mankind seeks liberation from domination, want, disease, fear, and every form of bondage.
Who can doubt God's ability to provide His entire creation with ever-unfolding harmony? Where is there place, opportunity, or cause for such doubt in Love-controlled immensity? While the factual answer to this question must be, "Nowhere," we might reply instead, "It exists nowhere except in my own awareness of discordant situations. " One of these replies must be erroneous.
