Many people seem to possess an innate capacity to know right from wrong. Entirely apart from the promptings of education, custom, or reason, there is within them a feeling, a sometimes powerful force, tending to keep them in the paths of unselfish and loving action.

One of the fundamental points of Christian Science is that thought determines experience. Through prayerful study and demonstration, we find that if material beliefs are entertained, discord results; but if thought is based on the understanding of God as intelligence, Mind—the only consciousness—and of man as the spiritual reflection of Mind, harmony is experienced.

What a wonderful thing it is to know that man is made in God's own image, that he is absolutely pure and sinless, yes, incapable of sin because he reflects only the qualities of God, his creator! In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we find a rule that demands the earnest and prayerful consideration of every conscientious Christian Scientist.
What is the line of demarcation between appropriate boldness and bragging, true humility and self-depreciation, modesty and timidity? To most of us the answer probably does not come all at once. More probably after many trials and experiences we arrive at a correct estimate of the permissible and desirable, on the one hand, and of the hurtful and damaging, on the other.
