THE COMFORT OF THE COMFORTER

The meaning of the word "comfort" may vary with the thought of each individual, but it is often conceived of as denoting rest, solace, and freedom from pain. Healing is a usual, not an unusual, event in Christian Science. Sometimes at the end of a testimony or a discussion of a healing the remark is made that the healing which was experienced has been permanent.

DISPROVING CHANCE

Today , as of old, under the guise of false religious beliefs or utter irreligious thinking the people of the world accept superstition, fatalism, chance, or luck as playing a part in their everyday experience. Yet this age proclaims itself to be the age of science, and one definition of "science" that Webster gives is this: "accumulated and accepted knowledge which has been systematized and formulated with reference to the discovery of general truths or the operation of general laws.

THE PRACTICALITY OF THE CHRIST

It is the practical office of the Christ to eliminate the ills of the flesh, revealing existence harmoniously controlled by Spirit. In speaking of the eternal Christ, Truth, and its adaptability to every phase of human existence, Jesus declared ( John 10: 10 ), "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

DIVINE LAW

All true law emanates from divine Principle, God. Those who seem to suffer, sin, and die do so because of the belief that there are material laws opposed to divine law and that these so-called laws can at times prevail over the infallible law of God.

OPENING THE GATES OF HEAVEN

The man who is born of God, Spirit, is ever in heaven, harmony. A glimpse of the spiritual nature of this man opens the gates of heaven.
