Every statement of Christian Science is true and provable because it is both Christian and scientific, therefore inalienably right. Often a single scientific, right thought will bring healing.

We may be accustomed to think of human talents as belonging to certain individuals who manifest notable achievement in music, art, literature, and so forth. When the possessor of such a talent seeks to purify his life as taught in Christian Science and to improve his thought by striving to be more Godlike, he experiences the illumination of Spirit, just as the sunshine penetrating a cloud brings light.

The words from a much-loved hymn, "I need Thee every hour," express mankind's need for God. Humanity's need for God is borne out by Mary Baker Eddy's scientific discovery that man without God would be speedily annihilated.

The thought is sometimes voiced that a person's pattern of activities constitutes his way of life. This way of life, it may be noted, is at times harmonious and at other times quite the reverse.

Children do not drift into a working knowledge of mathematics or physical sciences. And the adult who recognizes Christian Science as the Science of being will find definite ways to help the children to learn this Science.

A most encouraging statement is given by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 393 ): "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good.

Christian Science, being an exact Science, demands the understanding and practice of its divine Principle, God. A child, or one who has but faintly glimpsed the Principle of Christian Science, is able to heal.

When one considers the many years that the mortal body has been studied, analyzed, and operated upon, is it any wonder mortals question why there are still so many diseases and discords apparent in the world today? On the memorable occasion of her first address in the newly completed Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in May, 1895, Mary Baker Eddy said (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 106 ): "It has long been a question of earnest import, How shall mankind worship the most adorable, but most unadored,—and where shall begin that praise that shall never end? Beneath, above, beyond, methinks I hear the soft, sweet sigh of angels answering, 'So live, that your lives attest your sincerity and resound His praise.

All of us are amazed at the subtle passage of time. We often hear the remark, "It seems only yesterday that such-and-such happened," and then find that many months or years have passed since the particular event took place.
