" The Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend" ( Ex. 33:11 ).
Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, with her usual foresight and wisdom, made provision through the Manual of The Mother Church for the Christian Science nurse. In Article VIII, Section 31, of the Manual she writes: "A member of The Mother Church who represents himself or herself as a Christian Science nurse shall be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, who thoroughly understands the practical wisdom necessary in a sick room, and who can take proper care of the sick.
It is hard to imagine that anyone would deliberately turn off a beautiful, straight highway onto an unknown, devious, bumpy road if he were really eager to reach his destination. Yet is not this just what we do when we depart from the mental road of clear, straight thinking into the bypaths of self-deception, self-will, discouragement, or fear? The Bible has many references to the way—the straight way that leads to the kingdom of heaven or the promised land, which is the place all mankind is really seeking.

Therefore despair not nor murmur, for that which seeketh to save, to heal, and to deliver, will guide thee, if thou seekest this guidance.
The light of God's radiant being expressed by the Christ dawned upon Isaiah when he said ( Isa. 60:1 ), "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
Eternal Life, free from all material, unreal restrictions, is the true Light and substance of all. This substance becomes apparent through Christian Science, the law of divine Principle.
When news came to Paul that the little Christian church which he had founded in Galatia was wavering in its faith and loyalty, he wrote to it the stirring epistle called "Galatians" in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. This epistle, though written some nineteen centuries ago, is quite as valuable to us today as it was to those pioneer Christians of the first century.
