The study of Christian Science fosters a natural desire to serve the Church of Christ, Scientist. Opportunities to gratify this desire are provided as our concept of Church and its activity is spiritualized.
In Christian Science growing up may be considered as growing upward, as ascending in thought, and as increasing in the understanding of one's higher nature. This higher nature, the Christ, knows no birth, maturity, or decay, but forever expresses the qualities of God, unchanging Life, Truth, and Love.

Yearning to understand the truth of all things, human thought has for centuries probed the vast unknown with what it calls the scientific method. The desire for dominion over every adverse circumstance has inspired a stupendous human labor which has built the whole great body of the physical sciences.
