Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

VIGILANCE

Jesus , the human messenger of Christ, Truth, "in all points tempted like as we are" ( Hebr. 4:15 ), was always found at his post of duty, lovingly obedient to the mandates of Mind, God, and daily demonstrating his conscious awareness of Mind's presence and power.

"THE PATTERN OF THE MOUNT"

Through the revelation that came to Mary Baker Eddy there has been vouchsafed to Christian Scientists spiritual understanding of the Master's teachings with attendant power to obey his commands to heal sickness and sin and to break the hold of death. Insofar as they remain true to this trust they are servants of mankind and leaders of nations.

OUR MODEL

Nathaniel Hawthorne tells the story of a little boy who during his childhood gazed daily at a gigantic human face carved by nature in a granite cliff dominating his town. This is a perfectly reasonable proposition, but it runs counter to the general opinions of the world's unenlightened thought.

RETIREMENT

Retirement should be a progressive, not a retrogressive, period. Men and women who have withdrawn from daily toil in their usual occupation, business, or profession may and should look forward to continuing achievement, usefulness, and happiness.

MAN'S GLORIOUS HISTORY

The man whom God knows and cherishes has a glorious history. This history, however, is spiritual, not material.

CONCEPTION UNCONFINED

Our ability truly to conceive God determines the measure of our experience of heaven, or harmony. Instead of accepting the limited and corporeal sense of God and man we must be prepared to grasp the purely spiritual and incorporeal sense of God and therefore of man in His image and likeness.

THE WAY OUT OF MATERIALISM

Thousands of individuals today are questioning the validity of material methods, which they realize have not solved humanity's problems. For centuries reformers and philanthropists have endeavored to alleviate human suffering through material methods.
