Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

"A VERY PRESENT HELP"

Sooner or later everyone must learn that the only infallible helper is God, eternal Mind, and that whatever one's experience or need may seem to be, Mind has already supplied that need. The day must dawn when it will be universally understood that God's help is ever present and far beyond anything that we can hope to receive from any human person or influence, because human influence is always limited and restricted, whilst God, good, is measureless divine Mind and never makes a mistake.

ARISE!

Loyalty to the clearly defined standard of Truth and undeviating allegiance to divine Mind are the Christian Scientist's vital obligation, as is made clear throughout the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the inspired Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. On page 183 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," she says: "Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength.

THE USE OF SYMBOLS

When the inspired prophets of the Old Testament received their wonderful revelations of Truth, these visions were frequently recorded in language which was symbolic. In the New Testament the statement of the truth became clearer.

THE SCIENCE OF ATOMIC ACTION

We are living in an age of new and remarkable discoveries of atomic power, and we may feel that the atom belongs to relatively recent scientific research. The development and grasp of atomic power is a modern achievement, but the theory of atomism is an ancient philosophy, dating back to about 460 B.

YOURS TO ADVENTURE

THE very word "adventure" quickens thought. It holds promise of discoveries.

SECURITY FROM THIEVES AND ROBBERS

HOW much happier the world would be, how much more joyous and secure our lives, if there were full obedience to the commandment ( Ex. 20:15 ), "Thou shalt not steal"! If one watches a few birds feeding, one sees that they sometimes rob one another of morsels of food.

TO KNOW ONESELF FREES FROM ERROR

" ART thou still unacquainted with thyself?" queries Mary Baker Eddy in "Retrospection and Introspection" ( p. 86 ).

WORKING FOR INTERNATIONAL UNITY

THE other day a brilliant young physicist, who had helped in the work of perfecting the atomic bomb, came to our house and asked for an interview with a member of the household who is a newspaper reporter. Having returned to civilian life, this physical scientist was bending every effort to arouse the public to the impelling urgency of international unity.

"WHAT IS MAN?"

THE Biblical statement found in the first chapter of Genesis, that man is made in the image and likeness of God, arrests attention. Since God is everlasting Spirit, His reflection, man, must be everlastingly spiritual.

TO WIN AND HOLD THE PEACE

PEACE! How the ages have longed for it, and how elusive it has seemed to both men and nations! Few there are who have attained a satisfying sense of peace of mind, body, or associations. Yet for nineteen centuries there has been before the world a sure way to peace.
