The spiritual enlightenment one gains from his study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, can be put into practice immediately. If earnestly sought and honestly applied, this understanding will be found sufficient to meet the daily needs of the individual.

Christian Science , in its revelation of the true nature of all that exists, lifts thought above and beyond matter. For example, we discern and demonstrate true selfhood only in proportion as we maintain the consciousness of eternal, spiritual truth, which is entirely apart from the so-called phenomena of matter.

" God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" ( John 4:24 ). To worship means to venerate and adore.

That we are living in an era of great progress in the realm of the physical sciences there can be no doubt. The development of radar during the war and the discovery of how to release the power which furnished the atomic bomb show that the human mind is exploring new fields and overcoming many of the material limitations which it has accepted for centuries.

Many people, seeking surcease from anxiety, are greatly concerned with the problems that are associated with advancing years. But what says the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science about age? On page 246 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy writes, "The measurement of life by solar years robs youth and gives ugliness to age.

On  page 583 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, appears the definition of "Church," which reads in part, "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle. " As Christian Scientists progress Spiritward and understand more of spiritual reality, they rejoice in a growing understanding of the true idea of Church as spiritual, spotless, and above reproach.

Of recent years, particularly since the utilization of the atomic bomb, the engineer and the scientist have heard much criticism of their work and many expressions of fear as to where science and engineering are leading the world. The answer is, of course, that it is not the discoveries and developments which are to blame but the use to which they are put.
