"THE ACCUSER IS NOT THERE"

From the January 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THE perfect, immutable children of God coexist with infinite Mind, where only good exists, and where all the beliefs of error are forever unknown. As faithful witnesses and expressions of an infinite God, they possess all the qualities of Love as its reflection, and need not strive to obtain good, for God gives impartially to all of His ideas. They are without taint or guile, as incapable of being accused as they are of falsely accusing one another. Indeed, in the spiritual universe under the government of divine Love there can be no false accuser, nor anyone to be accused.

Whence then come accusation, condemnation, penalty, and bitter regret?

The false belief that matter is substance, and that man is material, subject to sin, disease, and death, is the only accuser and the seeming cause of all the inharmonies of mankind. But in the glorious light of Christian Science we discern man as the spiritual image and likeness of God, governed and maintained by His law, and not subject to the unjust claims of a negative, godless mind. Any accusations based on an opposite concept are a lie against God and a denial of His perfect manifestation, man. The seeming accuser is ignorance of God, which can only accuse and destroy itself.
