Accepting God's law as absolute, Christian Scientists are enabled through prayer to utilize with increasing confidence the treasures of Truth and Love gained by this understanding. God's law is above human variance; it is established, unassailable, infallible.

In "Rudimental Divine Science" ( p. 1 ) Mary Baker Eddy asks the question, "How would you define Christian Science?" and answers it thus: "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony.

Surely never more vitally nor more imperatively has the subject of security and defense engaged the thoughts of world citizenry than today. It is apparent that adequate armament, military measures, and preparedness are essential in human governments until men and nations have learned to subjugate their lust for gain, greed, and mad ambition, and to respect the rights, lives, and liberty of innocent peoples.

A soldier serving in France A during the World War was engaged in artillery target practice so near the battle front that the roar from the heavy firing could be heard, and the glare from the huge guns could be seen at night. He had become interested in Christian Science, and he withdrew each night to a small shed on a hillside near by, where he read the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy in the light of a candle which he carried with him.

Certainly , no earnest student of Christian Science could overlook his individual responsibility to think correctly about world affairs today. Salvation is individual.

Possibly there is no problem more generally considered by humanity today than that of realizing sufficient supply to meet daily requirements. The income of many seems insufficient.

" Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick.

Throughout the years, the moving spirit of that dynamic hymn beginning with the words, "Onward, Christian soldiers," has, it is safe to assume, supported many a faltering footstep, uplifted many a despairing heart, and brought forth many a genuine triumph. It has, without a doubt, turned the erroneous trend of numerous lives by disclosing the way to higher, better things, and by helping to make possible the grand accomplishment of those things.

The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, spoke with prophetic vision when she wrote in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 83) : "Science only can explain the incredible good and evil elements now coming to the surface.

Among the many important truths indicated in the Bible, there are two which may be mentioned as being fraught with deep significance for all mankind: first, that God is the only Life, or Mind; secondly, that man, the image and likeness of God, reflects and expresses this eternal Life, or Mind. In the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy has clarified all questions relative to God's true nature and man's relationship to Him.
