Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

MAN'S UNITY WITH GOD

Man eternally dwells in Mind. He is inseparable from his creator, divine Love, from Truth, forever expressing Life.

TEACHING IN THE SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Sunday school of a Christian Science church is a necessary department in the church activities. Out of the Sunday school should come a goodly portion of the church membership.

MORAL COURAGE

It is the desire of every right-thinking person to meet the adverse conditions of human experience with dignity, calmness, and fortitude; to withstand arguments of loss and defeat with hope and courage, and to face danger fearlessly. Such fortitude under conditions for which at the time no remedy has appeared is certainly commendable and is rightly honored wherever it is encountered.

AGGRESSION CANNOT WITHSTAND DIVINE LOVE

In the Scriptures we find two seemingly opposing statements: David's words to Goliath, "The battle is the Lord's," and the prophet Habakkuk's words of praise to God, "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity. " To harmonize these seemingly conflicting statements one must see, through the teachings of Christian Science, that God, good, divine Principle, is All, filling all space, and therefore evil in any form must of necessity be nonexistent, nothing.

DESTROYING BELIEF IN DEATH

The words spoken by Christ Jesus are for us today, "If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death;" and, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" "Believest thou this?" The grief-stricken thought of Martha must have been suddenly awakened by Jesus' startling question.

SPIRITUAL UNFOLDMENT

Every true idea, every step of genuine progress, that has come to the human race has come by way of spiritual unfoldment. When we are receptive to it, this divine light or spiritual revelation comes to each one of us in our everyday experience and inevitably awakens a desire for greater progress—progress that can come in satisfying measure only as a result of our gaining a more intimate understanding of God, infinite Mind or divine Principle.

TRUE GIVING AND RECEIVING

Giving and receiving have always been actively manifested in human experience. But today, perhaps more than ever before, the demand for giving in all departments of daily affairs raises the cry that the supply, or receiving, is incommensurate or inadequate.

THE CONFLICT AND THE INDIVIDUAL

Many people are asking themselves today: "What is my relationship to the world conflict? And what part may I have in bringing it to a right settlement?" In attempting an answer to these questions one must necessarily consider some of the fundamental points at issue, and by reason and revelation gain some sense of direction and guidance. It may seem difficult when in the cross fire of human opinion to arrive at a satisfying answer; nevertheless, it is practicable through the good offices of Christian Science to have a clear sense of right, and to go forward with tranquil assurance, confident that God governs.

"SPIRIT IS THE ONLY SUBSTANCE"

When the Psalmist declared what he had perceived of the eternal truth in the words, "Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations," and, "Before the mountains were brought forth, .

THE BACKGROUND OF PAUL'S LETTERS

When we study the epistles of the great missionary Apostle Paul, as they are now printed in our Bible, meticulously divided up into chapters and verses, and provided sometimes with rather lengthy titles, it is all too easy for us to forget that they were rarely, if ever, intended by their author to be elaborately worked out treatises, or even epistles, in any formal sense of the word. From first to last they were letters, and they can be more deeply appreciated when their essential character is thus understood.
