Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

AN ABIDING SENSE OF GOOD

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE teaches that good is real, eternal, infinite, omnipresent; and that evil, the supposititious opposite of good, is unreal and ephemeral, without form, locality, or substance. This knowledge is gained by lifting thought above the testimony of the so-called material senses, by contemplating spiritual existence, and by learning of God and the truths pertaining to God, as expounded in Christian Science.

DOMINION

THE Christian world acknowledges that Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, exercised a purely spiritual dominion over all the phases of evil which he encountered in the course of his ministry. His vision of God, good, and of man in God's likeness, was so clear and constant that he never yielded to fear; nor was he ever deceived by the evidence of the five physical senses.

THE UNDERSTANDING HEART

THE Bible presents the truth about God and man and the growing perception of this truth by humanity. Along with the revelation of man as the image and likeness of God it contains the story of a supposititious material man, an Adam-man made out of dust; and Christian Science separates the truth about spiritual man, which runs like a vein of pure gold through the inspired writings, from human beliefs, which call man material.

LIFE ETERNAL

FEW , if any, of our Leader's many weighty statements mean more to mankind than those found in the short paragraph under the marginal heading, "True life eternal," on page 246 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " There Mrs.

JESUS—THE GREAT EXEMPLAR

STUDENTS of the Bible are familiar with the beautiful words uttered by Jesus the Christ, recorded in the nineteenth verse of the seventeenth chapter of John: "For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. " In this divinely inspired expression of the Love that is God, we find the keynote to the entire ministry of him who completely demonstrated his ability to subjugate matter and ascend to the native state portrayed by him in the fifth verse of the same chapter in these words: "O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

REALITY

NOTHING is more important to the human race than the right apprehension of that which is real— reality. Many things seem to be real to the so-called human mind that have no reality whatsoever.

A FATHER'S COMPASSION

A NEVER failing source of inspiration to the earnest student of the Bible is the story of the prodigal son. The loving thoughts of his parent followed him wherever he went; and when, weary and heartsick and awakened at last to the uselessness of all his search for material satisfaction, he turned toward his home, those same loving thoughts went out to meet him.

LIFE

" NOTHING that lives ever dies, and vice versa . " In this statement in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p.

"APPROVED UNTO GOD"

THROUGH the teachings of Christian Science we learn that God is infinite good, and that goodness is the expression of the infinite presence of God—Life, Truth, and Love; that God is Spirit; and that man is spiritual, created in God's image and likeness. This understanding, revealing man as the reflection of God, good, is as inherent in man's nature as is the harmonious unfolding of the bud into the full-blown rose.

THE REFLECTION OF BEING

THE human mind, so called, has as a rule admired certain traits— physical courage, boldness, personal ambition in competition, power in leadership. But the Bible lays stress, not on these physical characteristics, but on those which mortal mind is apt to call the passive virtues, which, for example, in Abraham were faith, faithfulness, and obedience; in Moses, meekness and spiritual understanding; in Daniel, purity and trust.
