Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

The continuity of God, God's message, and you

Two summers ago I spent a short time helping to excavate an archaeological site in the southwestern United States. As I worked, I found myself thinking more and more about the fact that, throughout history, Christ, Truth, continuously communicates itself.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "'a little book,' open for all to read and understand"

The system of divine healing found in Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health is making known the power of God to heal spiritually—the book is "open for all to read and understand," See Science and Health , p. 559.

Moratorium suspends federal intrusion on states' religious accommodations

In July the United States Congress placed a one-year moratorium on efforts by the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to remove from state laws the existing accommodations of spiritual healing for children. In general these state laws have stated that, in caring for a child's health, a parent's decision to use spiritual means instead of conventional medicine shall not of itself be deemed neglectful or abusive.

"Go forward, just as your dad is doing"

Recently my father passed away. Despite the sadness that often attends such occasions, I found it to be a time of intense spiritual growth.

MORE SIGNS of the TIMES

"Thoughts that heal" From South East Magazine (Australia), February 15-19, 1993 by Ken Packer "Do we dream of personal power, social superiority, or public prestige? Do we hunger for money, for material possessions, and a luxurious lifestyle? "These desires come from one source only, namely, from ideas which we allow to lodge in our minds. And going one step further, so that our musings develop into unrestrained lust, amounts to our thoughts taking us prisoner! "But God can help us turn the tables by 'bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ' (II Corinthians 10.

Follow-up meeting on Science and Health

In 1993, meetings were held throughout the United States and in many other countries focusing on the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science. The purpose of these meetings was to engage church members in making the revealed Comforter, the divine Science which Christ Jesus taught and practiced, more widely known to all mankind through Science and Health.

When we think of nursing, perhaps care of the sick comes immediately to thought. Christian Science healing, however, is meant to cure sin as well as sickness, to address materialism in our own thought even as we care for the patient.

Steadfastness and church growth

Christ Jesus was keenly aware of each individual's preciousness to God. One way he explained this was by telling his followers that every hair of their heads was numbered.

Don't be deceived!

Most of us well know that we cannot always believe what we see. We know that at times something we thought to be true has turned out to be completely false.

More like bridges than islands...

Bridges , windows, ambassadors —these are a few words to describe the all-embracing thought that moves members of The Mother Church to form Christian Science organizations (CSOs) at universities and colleges. CSOs are bridges, bringing together those on a college campus who are searching for spiritual perspective; windows letting in the light of Christian healing on community needs; made up of ambassadors, not of denominational "territory," but of the universal ideas Mary Baker Eddy has shared with "honest seekers for Truth" in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (see p.
